The surroundings are stunning. MAMA Lariens nursery school is located across from an elderly home with a beautiful garden that exudes an almost surreal sense of peace and serenity. Unfortunately, this contradicts strongly with the poverty and the problems Hopetown’s children have to face.
Fortunately, they can turn to MAMA Larien and her team. In the nursery school, the little ones play and learn, receive healthy meals and get lots of love and attention. It’s a haven and the toddlers are well prepared for their school period; to prevent them from dropping out.
For the older children, there is a broad programme of after school care, homework assistance, healthy meals, sport and home visits. In this way, the MAMAS of Iya Bana try to give as many children as possible a chance of a positive future in this widespread area.
